Creating Opportunities across the United States and worldwide
Our organization creates awareness through websites, lectures, books, articles, research, social media platforms, audio and video documentaries about "America's Great Black Jockeys" and career opportunities in the thoroughbred racing industry aimed at turning disadvantaged inner city youth's lives around. We execute presentations in public grade schools, high schools, colleges, libraries, churches and speaking engagements. We take (12-16 year-old) inner city youth teams on educational career lecture tours to thoroughbred farms, racing stables, ranches, yearling sales, veterinarian facilities and thoroughbred race tracks across the country. The tours, books, educational materials and lecture venues are free to participants and provide valuable one on one and behind the scenes opportunities for our youth to meet and hear directly from career professionals operating in the thoroughbred racing industry and pose poignant questions . Including owners, trainers, breeders, jockeys, jockey agents, grooms, exercise riders, hot walkers, veterinarians, blood sales agents, race track staff and others. Oliver Lewis Inner City Thoroughbred Jockey Club raises money for operations and activities through donor engagement programs inclusive of matching gifts, fundraisers, promotions, event sponsorship, individual and corporate donor sponsorships and organizing partnerships across the United States and internationally.
